Kogi Traditional Rulers Unite Against Insecurity in Oworoland

Traditional rulers from Oworoland in Lokoja Local Government Area, Kogi State, convened on a Sunday to address rising insecurity and promote unity among the community. The meeting, chaired by Mallam Moham Baiyerohi, focused on assessing challenges affecting the community, including insecurity and socio-economic development.

The rulers expressed concerns about the area being targeted by kidnappers and bandits due to its proximity to the River Niger, which serves as a hideout for criminals. They commended Governor Usman Ododo for his efforts to tackle insecurity, noting his personal visits to troubled forest areas.

The council resolved to strengthen collaboration with traditional institutions and security agencies to improve safety and accelerate development in Oworoland. They urged the people to set aside political differences and prioritize unity as a foundation for progress.

The meeting included contributions from various traditional title holders and emphasized the need for cultural festivals and technology deployment to combat crime.
