Kogi Monarchs Unite Against Kidnapping and Banditry

Traditional rulers from Oworoland in Lokoja, Kogi State, convened to address the escalating issues of kidnapping and banditry affecting their communities. The meeting, chaired by Mallam Moham Adoga, emphasized the need for unity among traditional leaders to tackle insecurity and promote socio-economic development.

The rulers expressed deep concern over the rise in criminal activities, particularly due to the area's proximity to the River Niger, which provides routes for criminals. They commended Governor Ahm Ododo for his proactive measures, including visits to troubled areas to curb crime.

The council proposed the establishment of the Oworoland Cultural Festival to foster unity and suggested deploying technology to enhance security. The traditional rulers, including HRH Oba Fedrick Balogun JP and HRH Oba Ismaila Zakari, resolved to strengthen collaboration with the Kogi State government and security agencies to improve safety and accelerate development in Oworoland.
