Kogi PDP Elders Demand Apology from Natasha Akpoti

The Kogi PDP Elder Council has called for an immediate and unreserved apology from Senator Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan regarding her recent endorsement of Idris Kashim for the Kogi East Senate ticket. The council, represented by spokesperson Alhaji Ibrahim Dansofo, criticized Akpoti's actions as unwarranted interference in the political affairs of the Igala people, asserting that such matters should be managed internally without external influence.

The statement, issued on Tuesday, condemned Akpoti's endorsement as reckless and a subversion of internal party democracy, describing it as an affront to the leadership of Kogi East. Dansofo emphasized that Kogi Central should not dictate the political landscape of Kogi East, labeling the endorsement as disrespectful to the ongoing consensus-building process among major aspirants.

The council accused Akpoti of attempting to impose political influence and warned that her actions could lead to a crisis within the Igala political system. They reiterated their demand for an apology and urged party members to remain calm while ensuring a democratic process in candidate selection.
