Kukah Centre Trains 300 Katsina Security Personnel

The Kukah Centre has commenced a week-long training program for no fewer than 300 personnel of the Katsina State Community Watch Corps, focusing on standard operating procedures related to human rights protection and alternative dispute resolution. The training began on Monday and is part of the "Strengthening Peace Resilience in Nigeria" program, implemented by Tetra Tech International Development.

Participants were drawn from 34 local government areas in Katsina State. The initiative comes amid a decade of violence in Nigeria, particularly in the northwest and north-central regions, and aims to complement conventional security agencies.

Katsina State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Fadila Dikko, commended the Kukah Centre for its foresight and urged participants to apply the knowledge gained during the training. Ukoha Ukiwo, the team lead for the program, outlined its focus on improving service delivery and promoting peace, security, and justice.

The training is part of a broader effort to institutionalize standard operating procedures and enhance coordination among security actors in the state.
