Kukah Centre Trains 4,000 Security Personnel in Plateau

The Kukah Centre has initiated a training program for 4,000 security personnel in Plateau State to combat persistent insecurity issues. Mr.

Saka Azimazi disclosed that the first batch of 100 trainees has completed a week-long session, with plans for two additional batches of 100 each. The training focuses on standard operating procedures, legal reviews, and addressing gaps in law regarding arrest and detention.

Azimazi emphasized the need for clarity in legal provisions to prevent unnecessary detentions and abuse of power. The program, which began under the administration of former Governor Jonah Jang in 2010, aims to enhance the effectiveness of the security unit known as Operation Rainbow.

Plateau State Attorney General Philemon Dafi highlighted the importance of maintaining peace and legal compliance. The Kukah Centre plans to continue training trainers to ensure sustainability and optimal performance in future operations, demonstrating Plateau State's commitment to innovative local security solutions.
