Kukah Urges Action Against Nigeria's Deepening Insecurity

In his Easter message issued on Sunday, Bishop Matthew Kukah of the Sokoto Diocese expressed grave concerns regarding Nigeria's escalating insecurity and economic challenges. He described the nation as being trapped in a cycle of instability, warning that without urgent action, the situation could worsen.

Kukah highlighted the humanitarian crisis, noting that over 20,000 people have been killed and millions displaced due to violence over the past 20 years. He criticized the political elite for failing to fulfill campaign promises, leaving many citizens in poverty and without hope for a better future.

Kukah emphasized the need for Nigerians, particularly Christians, to maintain faith and actively participate in rebuilding the country rather than blaming leaders. He called for a balanced approach to self-defense and peace, urging citizens to engage in collective action to prevent the nation from sinking further into despair.

His message concluded with a call for prayer and practical action towards national renewal amidst ongoing security concerns and rising living costs.
