Kuwait Implements New End-of-Service Benefits for Workers

In Kuwait, workers whose employment ends are entitled to end-of-service benefits from their employers, calculated based on their payment type and duration of service. For workers paid daily, weekly, hourly, or by piecework, the law stipulates 10 days' pay for each of the first five years of service.
From the sixth year onward, the entitlement increases to 15 days' pay for each additional year worked. However, the total payout for this category cannot exceed one full year's pay, irrespective of the length of employment.
Conversely, monthly-paid workers are entitled to 15 days' wages for each of the first five years, with a pro-rated calculation for any partial year. For every year beyond the fifth, they earn one full month's wages, with the total benefit capped at one and a half years' wages.
Importantly, workers do not need to complete a full year to qualify for a payment, as benefits are calculated proportionally based on the actual time spent in employment.
