The Kwankwasiyya Movement has refuted reports alleging that its leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, was in talks with the APC for defection negotiations. The movement's spokesperson, Dr.

Habibu Sale Moham, dismissed the claims as false and misleading, emphasizing that Kwankwaso had not engaged in any discussions with the APC. The movement clarified that the last formal meeting between Kwankwaso and President Tinubu occurred in January 2024 but did not involve defection discussions.

Senator Rufa'i Sani Hanga criticized the recent defection of Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to the APC, attributing it to alleged political betrayal. The NNPP claimed that the APC lured Yusuf with assurances of electoral victory, prompting questions about the motives behind such defections.
