ADC Accuses INEC of Government Pressure to Destabilize Opposition

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of being under pressure from the federal government to destabilize opposition parties. This allegation follows the recent defection of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso to the ADC.

In a statement signed by Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC claims that the federal government is attempting to interfere with INEC's leadership, specifically targeting its chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan.

The ADC's concerns were articulated in a letter dated March 28, which was sent to senior advocates. The party alleges that there is a grand plan to destabilize viable opposition parties in Nigeria, which could lead to significant political consequences.
