Kwankwaso Condoles Jega Over Wife Hadiza's Death

Rabiu Kwankwaso, the former governor of Kano State, extended his condolences to Professor Attahiru Jega, the former chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), following the death of Jega's wife, Hadiza Jega. In a message posted on his Facebook page on Monday, Kwankwaso described Hadiza as a woman of virtue and dignity whose life positively impacted those beyond her immediate family.

He expressed his deepest condolences to Professor Jega and his entire family, acknowledging the pain of losing a beloved wife. Kwankwaso prayed for the repose of Hadiza's soul and for strength and patience for the bereaved family.

The announcement of Hadiza Jega's death was made by Bayero University Kano on Sunday, and a janazah prayer was scheduled to be held at the National Mosque in Abuja on Sunday, April 5, 2026.
