Tinubu, Shettima Mourn Hajiya Hadiza Jega's Passing

Hajiya Hadiza Attahiru Jega, the wife of former INEC Chairman Attahiru Jega, has passed away. The announcement was made via a statement shared on social media by BUK, where she was also recognized as a former vice chancellor.

The Janazah prayer is scheduled to take place immediately after Zuhr on Sunday. In a statement, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu expressed his condolences, describing Hajiya Hadiza as a woman of grace and strong character who was a pillar of support for her husband throughout his public service, including his tenure as INEC Chairman.

Vice President Kashim Shettima is expected to attend the Janazah prayer. The statement also included prayers for the family and requested that Allah grant her Aljannatul Firdau during this difficult time.
