Kwankwaso Accused of Using NNPP for Personal Gain

Agbo Gilbert Major, the National Chairman of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), accused former Kano state governor Rabi’u Kwankwaso of exploiting the party as a bargaining chip for his personal ambitions. Major made these allegations during an interview on Trust TV on Tuesday.

He noted that Kwankwaso, who was the NNPP presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, is now the Vice-Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for the upcoming elections. Major expressed his concerns about Kwankwaso's campaign strategy, stating that he only campaigned in Kano and neglected the Southeast and Southwest regions.

Major remarked that it became evident that Kwankwaso's primary interest lay in Kano and parts of Jigawa state, indicating that he used the NNPP for his own benefit rather than genuinely campaigning for the presidency. Major confirmed that the party has recently completed the uploading of its National Assembly candidates and presidential candidate.
