APC Accuses Kwankwaso of Political Control via Son

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has reacted to the New Democratic Congress (NDC) announcing Mustapha Kwankwaso as the deputy governorship candidate for the 2027 elections, alleging that former Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso is trying to maintain political control in Kano State through his son. APC Chairman Umar Haruna Doguwa stated that the nomination of Mustapha Kwankwaso aligns with the former governor's long-standing desire to retain influence over the state's politics.

Doguwa claimed that Kwankwaso has previously explored various political options to secure his influence. He further alleged that the arrangement to have his son as a running mate is part of a strategy to extend Kwankwaso's political reach in Kano.

Despite these accusations, Doguwa expressed confidence that the APC would retain its dominance in the state during the upcoming elections, while the Kwankwasiyya movement continues to assert its intention to reclaim power from the current administration led by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
