Ilorin Emirate Students Back Senator Mustapha for Governor

The Ilorin Emirate Students Union has officially endorsed Senator Saliu Mustapha for the governorship position in Kwara State for the upcoming 2027 elections. This announcement was made during a Ramadan lecture series held in Ilorin, where prominent figures, including traditional rulers and religious leaders, were present.

Sheikh Zulkainaini Opolo, representing the student body, expressed satisfaction with Mustapha's performance in the National Assembly over the past three years, stating that this has motivated the students to support his gubernatorial aspirations. The endorsement reflects a broader consensus among various indigenous groups, including the IEDPU and IEYDA, who appreciate Mustapha's contributions to community development.

Mustapha, who currently represents the Kwara Central Senatorial District and chairs the Senate Committee on Agriculture, expressed gratitude for the honor and emphasized the importance of empathetic leadership focused on the welfare of the people.
