AbdulRaheem Heads Kwara APC Peace Committee for Unity

Prof. Oba AbdulRaheem, an elder statesman and former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, is spearheading the Kwara APC Peace Committee to address internal disputes within the All Progressives Congress (APC) and rally support for the party in anticipation of the general elections. The committee held its inaugural meeting at AbdulRaheem’s residence in Ilorin on September 17, where members committed to resolving conflicts stemming from the party’s primaries.

AbdulRaheem, who previously chaired the Federal Character Commission, leads a group of distinguished Kwara indigenes from various sectors, including education, politics, journalism, and public service. Notable members include Dr. Johnson Adewumi, Rt. Hon. Issa Bio Ibrahim, Hon. AbdulGaniyu Cook Olododo, Oloriewe Raheem Adedoyin, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Ezekiel Issa, Pastor John Dara, and Hon. James Jiya Kolo.

The committee's objectives include serving as the conscience of APC leaders, addressing grievances, and promoting the successes of President Bola Tinubu and Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq's administrations. They are also engaging with aggrieved political leaders and stakeholders to build a united front for the upcoming elections, while canvassing support for the APC governorship candidate, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Danladi.
