CAF Increases Annual Funding for Member Associations

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced a 33% increase in annual funding for each of its 54 member associations, raising the allocation to $700,000. This announcement was made by CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe via a post on CAF media’s X handle.
The funding for zonal unions has also increased to $900,000, marking a 20% rise from the previous allocation of $750,000. This increase is part of CAF's commitment to enhancing football development across Africa, aiming for world-class and financially sustainable football.
Since Dr Motsepe took leadership, funding has steadily risen from $200,000 in 2021 to $400,000, then to $525,000, and now to $700,000. The additional resources are intended to strengthen administration, improve infrastructure, and support grassroots football development programs.
The announcement did not provide a detailed breakdown of how individual associations should allocate the new funds.
