Kwara State Bans School Graduation Ceremonies for Security

The Kwara State Government has issued a ban on graduation ceremonies in both public and private schools, citing security concerns as the primary reason for this decision. The directive was communicated through a letter signed by Mr.

Bunmi Osanupin, representing Dr. Lawal Olohungbe, the Director of the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development.

The letter was addressed to Prof. Raheem Adaramaja, the Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Ilorin.

The government emphasized the need to maintain order, safety, and decorum within schools amid prevailing security challenges. School proprietors, principals, and headteachers are required to ensure strict compliance with this directive, and any school found violating it will face appropriate sanctions in accordance with existing regulations.
