Ilorin Emirate Endorses Tinubu, Mustapha for 2027 Elections

The Ilorin Emirate Political Advisory Council (IEPAC) has officially endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office and Senator Saliu Mustapha as its preferred candidate for the Kwara State governorship in the upcoming 2027 elections. This decision was announced during a press conference in Ilorin, Kwara State, where the council, led by its national coordinator Dr. Yakub Yahaya Oloriegbe and secretary Lt. Col. Abubakar Edun, expressed their support following a comprehensive assessment of the candidates.

The council highlighted Tinubu's performance over the past three years, stating that he deserves an additional four years to consolidate his achievements. They described Senator Mustapha as widely accepted and capable of leading the state, possessing the necessary experience and exposure.

However, the council clarified that their endorsement does not exclude other aspirants from contesting, urging political actors to align with their interests for unity and progress in Kwara State. The council remains committed to monitoring political developments and supporting candidates who can sustain the achievements of the current administration under Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.
