Kwara PDP Names Engr. Kale Kawu as Consensus Candidate

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State has officially adopted Engr. Kale Kawu as its consensus candidate for the governorship elections scheduled for 2027.

This decision was announced by former Senate President Bukola Saraki on Saturday, following consultations with party stakeholders. The move comes after five aspirants, including Ali Ahmad, Omar Bolaji Gambari, Ladi Hassan, and Olaseni Ibiwoy, expressed their interest in the PDP governorship ticket.

Saraki commended the aspirants for stepping down their interests in favor of party unity and extended his appreciation for their gracious support of Kawu's candidacy. Engr.

Kale Kawu has previously served as the Director of Project Procurement Monitoring and Evaluation at the Rural Electrification Agency and is a retired public servant. This decision by the PDP was made less than 24 hours after the Kwara State Progress Congress adopted Yakubu Danladi Salihu as its governorship candidate for the same elections.
