KWASU Promotes 45 Academics to Professorial Ranks

On April 1, 2026, during its 78th regular council meeting, Kwara State University (KWASU) approved the promotion of 45 academic staff to various professorial ranks. The council ratified the promotions, which included 20 staff members attaining full professorship and 25 others being promoted to associate professorship.

Notable promotions to full professorship included Professor Saeedat B. Aliyu, who specializes in Environmental Gender and African Studies, Professor Tajudeen Yusuf, an expert in Arabic Linguistics, Professor Reuben Kehind Akano, who specializes in African Literature and Cultural Studies, and Professor Ayoola Oladunjoye Aransi, who focuses on Yoruba Literature and Gender Studies.
