Mbappe Eyes Ballon d'Or After Stellar Season with Madrid

Kylian Mbappe, a forward for Real Madrid, expressed confidence that this year could be his year to win the Ballon d'Or after a prolific season where he scored 42 goals in 44 appearances. Despite Real Madrid finishing the season without a major trophy, Mbappe's performance at the World Cup, where he won the Golden Boot with 10 goals, has bolstered his case for the prestigious award.

His career World Cup tally now stands at 22 goals, the highest ever recorded. The Ballon d'Or will be awarded on October 26.

Mbappe stated, “I think when you play for Real Madrid, the best club in the world, people associate you with this award.” He finished third in the 2023 Ballon d'Or rankings while playing for Paris Saint-Germain. However, bookmakers currently favor Harry Kane, who scored 61 goals for Bayern Munich, followed by Lamine Yamal and Rodri.
