Barcelona Dominates Elche 5-0; Adeyemi Scores Debut Goal

In their La Liga opener on Sunday, Barcelona secured a commanding 5-0 victory against Elche at the Martinez Valero Stadium. Karim Adeyemi made an impressive debut by scoring, while Raphinha and Fermin Lopez each contributed two goals.

Anthony Gordon, also making his debut, assisted two goals. Barcelona's coach Hansi Flick opted to start several regular starters on the bench as the team adjusts post-World Cup.

Raphinha, playing as the number nine due to the departures of Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres, opened the scoring with a penalty after being fouled by Victor Chust. Adeyemi doubled the lead before halftime, assisted by Raphinha.

In the second half, Gordon's contributions included assists for Raphinha's second goal and Lopez's fourth. Despite some defensive frailties, goalkeeper Joan Garcia maintained a clean sheet.

Elche's defender Chust acknowledged the difficulty of facing a strong Barcelona team.
