Barcelona Beats Athletic Bilbao 2-0 in La Liga Clash
On Thursday, Barcelona secured a 2-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao in La Liga, continuing their perfect start to the season. Raphinha opened the scoring in the 37th minute after rounding goalkeeper Unai Simon, following a pass from Pedri Gonzalez.
Fermin Lopez sealed the win with a goal in the 82nd minute after a mistake from Athletic defender Aymeric Laporte. Barcelona, managed by Hansi Flick, made three changes from their previous match, including Anthony Gordon's first start.
The team controlled the game, with Raphinha hitting the woodwork and Lamine Yamal also coming close. New signing Rodri made his debut, contributing to a squad that included ten Spaniards and Gordon.
Despite Athletic's rare threats, including a shot from Oihan Sancet that hit the post, Barcelona maintained dominance throughout the match, missing several opportunities to extend their lead.
