Yamal Shines as Barcelona Thrashes Valencia 5-0
On Sunday, Lamine Yamal scored two goals as Barcelona secured a dominant 5-0 victory over Valencia at the Mestalla stadium, maintaining their 100 percent start in La Liga. The reigning champions moved three points clear at the top of the league following Real Madrid's 1-0 defeat to Real Betis on Friday.
Yamal opened the scoring in the sixth minute with a clever finish after Fermin Lopez's assist. Although Yamal had a second goal disallowed for offside, Lopez netted the second goal in the 22nd minute.
Barcelona faced a setback when Eric Garcia was injured after a collision with teammate Rodri. Raphinha scored the third goal, followed by Pedri's fourth after a pass from Dani Olmo.
Yamal capped off the scoring with his second goal, concluding a successful afternoon for Barcelona and their new arrival Gabriel Jesus, who made his debut as a substitute.
