LAAC Conference to Address Aviation Revenue Challenges

The 30th Annual Conference of the League of Airport and Aviation Correspondents (LAAC) is scheduled for September 10, 2026, in Lagos. The conference will tackle critical issues regarding government revenue generation and sustainable growth in Nigeria’s aviation industry, themed “Towards a Sustainable Aviation Industry: Balancing Government Revenue Demands with Sector Growth.” It aims to gather stakeholders including policymakers, regulators, airline operators, airport managers, investors, and aviation professionals.

The discussions will focus on the financial pressures facing airlines, including multiple charges, high aviation fuel costs, and access to foreign exchange. The conference committee emphasized the need for government revenue policies that do not undermine the viability and competitiveness of aviation operators.

Key discussions will include maximizing government revenue from aviation without imposing excessive burdens on operators, airport infrastructure, regulatory effectiveness, and the broader economic contributions of aviation. Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, and other industry stakeholders are expected to attend.
