LAAC Conference to Address Aviation Revenue and Growth

The 30th Annual Conference of the League of Airport and Aviation Correspondents (LAAC) is scheduled for September 10, 2026, in Lagos. The conference theme is “Towards a Sustainable Aviation Industry: Balancing Government Revenue Demands with Sector Growth.” It aims to address the challenges of government revenue policies on the aviation sector's viability and competitiveness.

Key stakeholders, including Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation, and Suleiman Idris, the Chairman of LAAC, will participate. The conference will explore the implications of multiple charges on airlines, high aviation fuel costs, access to foreign exchange, and the broader economic contributions of aviation to Nigeria.

Discussions will focus on maximizing government revenue from aviation without imposing excessive burdens on operators. The event will also look into opportunities for expanding Nigeria's aviation revenue base through increased passenger traffic, cargo development, and other emerging areas within the aviation value chain.
