Ladoja Urges Tinubu to Expedite State Police Establishment

Oba Rasidi Ladoja, the traditional ruler of Ibadanland, has raised concerns regarding the current security situation in Nigeria and urged President Bola Tinubu to fast-track the establishment of state police. Ladoja emphasized the necessity of addressing insecurity across the country during an event held at the Olubadan Palace in the Ibadan North Local Government Area.

The traditional ruler made this declaration on a Monday while receiving a team from the Institute for Security Studies (NISS) led by Mr. Ibahim Halimah Zanna.

He noted that state police would complement the efforts of existing security agencies and help tackle the serious challenges Nigeria is currently facing. Ladoja's call comes at a time when insecurity is a pressing issue in the nation, and he urged the federal government not to waste time in establishing state police.

The visit was well-received despite the short notice, and it included a week-long study tour undertaken by the Oyo State delegation.
