Lafarge Africa Launches Free Breast Screening in Lagos

Lafarge Africa Plc has initiated a free breast screening program in Lagos to address the high incidence of breast cancer among Nigerian women, with approximately 88 new cases diagnosed daily. This initiative responds to the alarming statistic that about 22.7% of female cancer patients present at advanced stages 3 and 4, leading to high mortality rates.

The program aims to provide women with access to professional screening and medical consultations while reinforcing the importance of early detection to reduce the impact of breast cancer. The initiative is part of Lafarge Africa's commitment to bridging the critical gap in healthcare access and encouraging women to take ownership of their health.

The Occupational Health Coordinator from Leadwai Health emphasized the significance of regular check-ups and community knowledge sharing. The initiative has been commended by local government supervisors for bringing essential healthcare services closer to grassroots communities, highlighting Lafarge Africa's dedication to improving women's health and well-being.
