Lagos State Launches Free Health Insurance Scheme

Lagos State has introduced a health insurance scheme that offers free antenatal care, surgeries, and scans to residents. This initiative, launched during a medical outreach in Festac, is part of the Ilera Eko scheme, which aims to improve healthcare access across the state.

The Lagos State Lottery Game Authority, represented by Bashir Kazeem Olanipekun, affirmed the government's commitment to providing quality healthcare. The scheme is designed to cover 1,320 residents across three senatorial districts and is part of a broader strategy mandated by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to enhance healthcare services.

The Lagos State Health Management Agency, led by Luca Aladeusi, emphasized that the scheme is not limited to public facilities and includes partnerships with private hospitals and clinics. The initiative aims to reduce out-of-pocket medical expenses and improve access to quality healthcare services for all Lagosians.
