Lafarge Africa Expands Cement Plants in Nigeria to Boost Production Capacity

Lafarge Africa Plc, a leading cement manufacturer, is strengthening its local cement production by expanding its Sagamu and Ashaka cement plants in Ogun and Gombe states, Nigeria. The company is investing in new dry plants equipped with preheat kilns, vertical raw mills, roller presses, and cement mills to enhance energy efficiency.

Upon completion, the expansions are expected to increase the production capacity of the Ashaka and Sagamu plants to 3.5 million and 2 million metric tons per annum, respectively. This move follows the acquisition of a majority stake in Lafarge Africa Plc by Huaxin Building Materials Group.

Lolu Alade Akinyemi, the Managing Director and CEO of Lafarge Africa Plc, emphasized the long-term commitment to Nigeria's growth potential and infrastructure development through these projects, aiming to support the country's construction needs and create economic opportunities.
