APC Leaders Endorse Hamzat for Lagos 2027 Governorship

On Wednesday and Thursday, leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State signed the governorship nomination form for Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, the current Deputy Governor, endorsing him as the consensus candidate for the upcoming 2027 governorship election.

This endorsement came from 120 bona fide leaders and members of the APC across 20 local government areas and 37 local council development areas (LCDAs) in Lagos State. The signing event involved members of the party's Governor's Advisory Council (GAC), local government chairmen, and former and current public office holders.

The party leaders expressed confidence in Hamzat's candidacy and promised their support for him in the APC governorship primaries scheduled for next month. Additionally, APC aspirant Olajide Adeniran Jandor has stepped down in favor of Hamzat, with former governor Akinwunmi Ambode congratulating him on emerging as the consensus candidate.
