Lagos APC GAC Endorses Hamzat for 2027 Governorship

On Tuesday, the Governor's Advisory Council (GAC), which is the highest advisory body of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, unanimously endorsed Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat as the consensus candidate for the upcoming 2027 governorship election. This endorsement is seen as a significant boost for Hamzat's political ambitions.

The announcement was made by Tajudeen Olusi, a leader within the APC, during a meeting held at the Lagos House in Marina. The endorsement comes just 24 hours after Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu publicly announced his support for Hamzat as the preferred candidate.

Jubril Gawat, the Senior Special Assistant to the Lagos Governor on New Media, also confirmed the GAC's unanimous decision to adopt Hamzat as the candidate for the APC in the next election. This development indicates a strong backing for Hamzat's governorship nomination.
