Ambode Congratulates Hamzat on APC Governorship Ticket

Akinwunmi Ambode, the former governor of Lagos State, congratulated Obafemi Hamzat, the current deputy governor of Lagos State, for being adopted as the consensus governorship candidate by the All Progressives Congress (APC). In a statement issued on Thursday, Ambode described Hamzat's emergence as a product of loyalty, consistent commitment, and efforts to strengthen the party's growth and unity over the years.

He noted Hamzat's consultations with stakeholders within the party, which reflect a deliberate effort to advance the collective interests of Lagos State. Ambode expressed confidence in Hamzat's experience in governance and public administration.

Furthermore, he reiterated his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, declaring commitment to Tinubu's re-election bid ahead of the 2027 general elections. Ambode called on APC members in Lagos State to intensify mobilization efforts and work collectively towards achieving a decisive victory for the party, aiming for at least three million votes for the president in Lagos State.
