Egunjobi and Ninolowo Leave APC for APM in Lagos Race

Kola Egunjobi, the former Agege Local Government Chairman, and Azeez Yusuf, known as Ninolowo, have defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) as they seek election to the Lagos State House of Assembly in 2027. This decision comes after changes to the APC candidate list for Agege Constituencies I and II, where Egunjobi was initially reported as the winner of the APC primaries in May.

However, the APC later named Oluwagbenga Abiola as the candidate for Agege Constituency I and Enimakure Akindele Sakiru for Constituency II. Egunjobi publicly challenged the primary results in June, alleging discrepancies between the announced results and the votes recorded at the voting centers.

With their new affiliation to the APM, Egunjobi and Ninolowo will continue their political ambitions for the Lagos Assembly seats in the upcoming general election.
