Egunjobi and Yusuf Challenge APC Expulsion, Claim Resignation

Ganiyu Egunjobi, a former chairman of Agege Local Government, and Azeez Yusuf, a former aspirant for the Lagos State House of Assembly, have rejected their expulsion from the All Progressives Congress (APC). They assert that they had resigned from the party in July 2026, prior to the APC's announcement of their expulsion on September 23, 2026.

Both politicians are now candidates for the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) for Agege Constituencies I and II. The APC expelled them for allegedly abandoning the party after failing to secure nominations during the House of Assembly primaries.

Egunjobi contested for Agege Constituency I, while Yusuf sought the ticket for Constituency II. The APC recognized Gbenga Abiola and Sakiru Enimakure as its candidates for those constituencies.

Egunjobi and Yusuf disputed the primary results and claimed they had communicated their resignation to the party before moving to the APM. They questioned the validity of the APC's expulsion, arguing that it is not possible to expel individuals who have already resigned.
