Three Killed in Violent Clash in Ikola, Lagos State

On Thursday, a violent clash in the Ikola area of Lagos State resulted in the deaths of three individuals and injuries to two others. The Lagos State Police Command reported that the conflict began when suspected area boys demanded N200 from a tricycle rider, who refused to pay, leading to the seizure of his tricycle.

The rider later returned with others, escalating the situation into violence. The deceased and injured were transported to the Military Hospital in Yaba for medical attention.

In response to the unrest, the Commissioner of Police for Lagos State, CP Tijani Olaiwola Fatai, and Brig. Gen. Afolabi Owolabi of the Nigerian Army's 9 Brigade visited the scene to assess the situation and coordinate security efforts. The police confirmed that normalcy had been restored through the deployment of various security units and emphasized that investigations were underway to identify those responsible for the violence.

They warned that anyone found culpable would face legal consequences and urged residents to remain calm.
