Lagos Court Rules in Favour of Green Lotto in ₦72.7m Case

The Lagos High Court recently ruled in favor of Green Lotto in a ₦72.7 million case, ending a three-year legal battle. Former sales manager Charles Akhenamen was acquitted of criminal charges related to a lottery fraud case.

The dispute began when businessman Sunday Nwachukwu placed a winning bet, but the ticket was canceled by Green Lotto. Despite efforts to resolve the issue, Nwachukwu was accused of conspiracy, obtaining money by false pretense, and stealing the prize.

However, the court found insufficient evidence to support these claims. The case highlighted challenges in Nigeria's betting industry and the lack of a cohesive regulatory framework.
