Lagos Gallery Weekend Returns with Diverse Art Activities

The Lagos Gallery Weekend (LGW) will return for its third edition, aiming to bridge the gap between the public and the art world while enhancing Lagos's vibrant art ecosystem. Scheduled from March 4 to March 5, 2023, the event will feature 20 participating galleries and a range of activities designed for both children and adults.

Sunshine Alaib, the director of LGW, emphasized the importance of fostering cultural appreciation and dialogue through art. The weekend will include workshops, guided tours, and special programs, with a focus on inclusivity.

Notable participating galleries include Ikoyi K, Alliance Francaise, Soto Gallery, Kokopelli Gallery, and others. The event will also feature a partnership with Chisco Transport to facilitate seamless exploration of architectural landmarks alongside leading galleries.

The theme will include eight curated tours across various locations, and workshops will focus on women in art, coinciding with Women's Week. The event aims to attract both local enthusiasts and international visitors.
