Lagos Orders Computer Village Traders to Relocate to Katangowa in 18 Months

The Lagos State Government has given traders at Computer Village in Ikeja 18 months to relocate to a new market site in Katangowa. The decision was announced by Gbolahan Oki, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, during a stakeholder meeting.

The current Computer Village location, originally a residential area, was converted into a commercial hub without official approval. The government aims to facilitate the relocation process to Katangowa, which offers better infrastructure and support for business activities.

Traders are urged to cooperate with the government's plan, which was first introduced in 2006 but faced delays in implementation.
