The Lagos State Government has launched an investigation into the death of Chimamanda Adichie's son, following allegations of criminal negligence by a private hospital. Dr.

Kemi Ogunyemi, a special adviser to the governor on health, confirmed the government's immediate response to the incident. Adichie's son, Nkanu, was initially treated at Euracar Hospital for what was believed to be a cold but later developed a serious infection, leading to his admission to Atlantic Hospital where he passed away within 24 hours.

The hospital refutes claims of negligence, stating that the patient received appropriate care. The tragic incident has sparked public outrage and sympathy for the renowned author's family.
