Renowned Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie has accused Euracar Hospital in Lagos of medical negligence, leading to the death of her 21-month-old son, Nkanu Nnamdi. Adichie's statement described a series of errors directly contributing to her son's tragic death.

Initially admitted to Atlantic Hospital in Lagos for a minor infection, Nkanu's condition worsened, prompting a transfer to Euracar Hospital for further care. Despite being stable before the procedure, Nkanu suffered a sudden deterioration after a sedation process for an MRI scan, leading to seizures and cardiac arrest.

Adichie criticized the hospital for alleged oversight and failure to follow basic safety protocols, emphasizing the devastating loss and demanding accountability for the fatal medical errors.
