Lagos Government Accused of Defying Court Order in Oworonshoki Demolitions

The Lagos State Government has defied a court order by demolishing around 100 properties in Oworonshoki, despite a restraining order. Human rights lawyer Femi Falana accused the government of violating the court order, leaving families homeless.

The demolitions led to protests and condemnation, reminiscent of past cases where courts denounced such lawlessness. The High Court had issued an interim injunction to halt the demolitions following complaints from residents.
