Ex-Gov Candidate Accuses Lagos Govt of Defying Court Orders in Oworonshoki Demolitions

Gbadebo Rhode Vivour, a former Labour Party governorship candidate, has accused the Babajide Sanwo-Olu-led administration in Lagos of disobeying court orders and carrying out anti-poor demolitions in Oworonshoki. The demolitions have left several long-term residents homeless, with inadequate compensation and lack of proper planning.

Vivour criticized the lack of empathy and proper urban renewal programs, emphasizing the neglect of the poor in housing policies. The government is blamed for allowing illegal constructions to rise unchecked and punishing residents later for their negligence.
