Lagos Government Denies Rift Between Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu

The Lagos State Government has officially addressed rumors regarding an alleged rift between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. Omotoso, a representative of the Lagos State Government, characterized the reports as unfounded speculation, asserting that the relationship between the two leaders remains cordial.

During an interview on Channel Television, Omotoso insisted that the claims of a frosty relationship were based on imagination rather than factual evidence. He highlighted that Tinubu's recent visit to Lagos was indicative of the President's good relationship with the state government.

Furthermore, Omotoso clarified that the President has not expressed any dissatisfaction with the Lagos Governor. The discussion also touched on Sanwo-Olu's second term, which will conclude on May 29, 2027, and addressed speculation regarding the President's endorsement of a successor, stating that this matter has not been formally discussed.

Additionally, Omotoso defended the reported cost of the Ojota-Opebi link bridge, valued at 279 billion naira, as justified given the project's complexity.
