Lagos Deputy Governor Hamzat Shares Vision with Young Leaders

Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, presented his governance plans during a closed-door session with 150 young executives and founders in Ikoyi, themed “Lagos: The Next Chapter.” The meeting, organized by real estate firm 7-Fifteen Capital, aimed to foster dialogue between public leadership and the private sector. Hamzat emphasized his agenda of innovation, inclusion, and infrastructure, aiming to enhance the business environment, attract investment, and improve living standards.

He stated the need to build on existing progress while focusing on education, healthcare, support for youth and MSMEs, and security. His proposal, Digital Lagos 2.0, aims to integrate technologies like artificial intelligence and blockchain to improve governance and position Lagos as a technology hub.

The event included a fireside conversation addressing sustainability, town planning, and public-private partnerships. Tope Adekoya, CEO of 7-Fifteen Capital, noted the importance of engaging young business leaders, while Adesuwa Belo-Osagie, Deputy CEO, highlighted the collective responsibility of shaping Lagos's future.
