Lagos LG Chair Surah Animashaun Launches 2026 Procurement Committee

Surah Animashaun, the Executive Chairman of the Lagos Local Government, inaugurated the 2026 Procurement Statutory Committee as part of efforts to enhance transparency and accountability in the management of public resources. The inauguration took place at the council secretariat in Ita Marun on a Sunday.

Animashaun highlighted that accountability is central to administration and stressed the importance of integrity among committee members. The establishment of the committee aligns with the administration's objective to promote sound financial management.

Animashaun emphasized that public funds must be handled with a high level of responsibility and transparency, in accordance with procurement laws. She urged committee members to perform their duties with integrity and professionalism to safeguard public trust and ensure value for money in government projects.

The committee is expected to oversee the regular procurement process within the local government, ensuring compliance with existing regulations to prevent financial mismanagement and promote competitive and transparent bidding processes.
