Youth Inclusion in Governance Emphasized at Lagos Summit

Abdul Ganiyu Obasa, the chairman of Agege Local Government Area in Lagos State, called for increased youth inclusion in governance, stating that it is non-negotiable for the development of the country. His remarks were made during a summit that gathered emerging political leaders from nearly 40 countries across five regions of Africa.

The event aimed to shape the future of local governance and featured discussions on the role of youth in democratic processes. Obasa highlighted Nigeria's participation in the summit, reinforcing its commitment to youth inclusion in local government development.

He emphasized the need for policies that support young people and their future. The summit, organized by the Yelo Network, focused on enhancing leadership capacity and promoting inclusive local policies that reflect the aspirations of Africa's growing youth population.
