Lagos State and NCF Call for Collaboration to Combat Plastic Pollution

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, along with representatives from the Nigerian Conservation Foundation (NCF), emphasized the need for collective action to combat plastic pollution during the 19th Walk for Nature event. The event highlighted the environmental challenges posed by improper disposal of plastic waste, with Nigeria generating 2.5 million tons of plastic waste annually.

Lagos has taken steps such as enforcing a ban on single-use plastics and introducing recycling initiatives to address the issue.
