Lagos State Government Enhances Civil Service Training

The Lagos State Government is implementing regular civil service training to boost productivity and facilitate business operations, aligning with the Federal Government's ambition to achieve a $1 trillion economy by 2030. Mr Afolabi Ayantayo, the Lagos State Commissioner for Establishments and Training, announced this during the presentation of a completion report on a four-day Advanced Leadership and Artificial Intelligence Training Programme for senior civil servants.
The ministry identified skills gaps across ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) and engaged consultants to provide tailored training. Ayantayo noted that mechanisms are in place to measure staff performance post-training to ensure knowledge application in the workplace.
The trained personnel are expected to share their knowledge with subordinates, thereby extending the benefits of the training. The training programs aim to improve the ease of doing business and equip public servants to effectively respond to investment opportunities.
Prof. Olusoji George, CEO of J. Soji George Consultants, indicated plans to assess the application of leadership principles learned during the training after 90 days.
