Lagos State Launches Free Digital Skills Training for Youths

The Lagos State Government has initiated a five-day digital skills training program for youths in the Badagry and Ikorodu divisions, which commenced on Monday and will conclude on September 11. The training is being conducted at the Badagry Division Iba ICT Centre and the Homat School of Basic Studies CBT Centre in Ikorodu.

Participants will receive instruction in artificial intelligence, information technology, entrepreneurship, and emotional intelligence. Tolani Sule, the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, stated that the program aims to equip participants with practical skills to enhance their competitiveness in the evolving job market.

Adeniran Kasali, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tertiary Education, emphasized the importance of investing in digital education to create a workforce capable of thriving in a technology-driven economy. He encouraged eligible youths in the regions to take advantage of this free training opportunity, which is part of the government's broader effort to expand access to technology-related skills among young people.
